Located on the Beautiful Central Coast of California in San Luis Obispo County, The Equine Center has been helping the Horse Community since 1985.  Whether it be a world class athlete to a backyard horse, from a child's first pony to a trusty trail horse, the Equine Center prides itself in assisting every patient and client that come through our doors.

Our core staff is comprised of five veterinarians; Dr. Fausto Bellezzo, Dr. Olivia Inoue,  Dr. Jim Waldsmith, Dr. Laura Werner and Dr. Tanja Winkler.  The support staff includes skilled technicians who are devoted to patient care 24 hours a day, talented and experienced farriers, an equine dental specialist, and alternative medicine specialists. We are happy to have interns from around the world join our staff for their practical experience.

Our hospital is prepared and equipped to service any equine surgical or medical need. Whether it be emergency, diagnostic, neonatal, preventative, rehabilitative or reproductive care, we are available to meet your horse's needs.  Our facility includes a full surgical suite, recovery room, intensive care stalls, breeding shed with a reproduction lab, nuclear scintigraphy suite, and a high speed treadmill.
