We would like to introduce you to our
new intern, Dr. Danielle Spade. She is a graduate of Ross University
School of Veterinary Medicine Class ‘06. She completed her clinical
year at Texas A&Ms’ College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Spade began
working at the Los Alamitos racetrack in 1990 as a groom for
Stoltzfus Stables where she learned the finer points of Standardbred
racing. During a visit to Vernon Downs in upstate New York with
Stoltzfus Stables, she fell in love with the area and stayed there
for six years. In New York, she found a job at Triple Creek Farm,
working as a groom riding and showing hunter/jumpers. Soon
thereafter, she rekindled her interest in veterinary medicine while
shadowing a large animal veterinarian. In 1996, she moved back to
San Diego, where she finished her undergraduate degree while working
for Foxcroft Farms as an assistant trainer. Dr. Spade
completed her BS in Biology at Cal State San Marcos in 2002. Dr.
Spade has a passion for equine lameness and sports medicine. Dr.
Spade is highly dedicated to her job, and will be a wonderful
addition to our practice.
