To The Awesome Staff
at TEC
Thank
you all so much for taking such great care of me when I was so sick – you
all went above and beyond. Because of you, I am eating now and doing much
better. We are hoping my baby will hang in there and come out nice and
healthy in the next few weeks.
Next
time one of your patients keeps you up at night (hopefully it won’t be meJ),
Here is a round of starbucks to help keep you awake on me and my family.
Thank
you again for working so hard and caring so much!
Love Belle, and
Family.

Dear Dr. Inoue and
Staff,
I wanted to thank
you guys for your professionalism and kindness when diagnosing Dancer last
week. It was a great relief to know that she was in good hands, and to know
the outcome of the x-rays. I was also thankful for your willingness to
teach me about her feet. She has her new rim pads on and is moving
wonderfully. I enjoy every moment of riding her. Thank you for giving me
my horse back!
Thank you,
Jenny and Dancer

Dr. Werner,
I just
wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you. I can not tell you how much
I appreciate everything your did for Beau and myself. Your kindness and
compassion towards Beau is something I have not come across yet in my years
of dealing with vets. You made this whole event much easier on me. I knew
Beau was in the best of hands. Beau is doing great and he is almost back to
his old self. Thank you again, I could not asked for a better outcome from
this horrible ordeal. Please give Dr. Waldsmith and Inoue my deepest
thanks. I look forward to your future care of my horses.
Kristi and “Beau”

JSL Khemosabra
On June 21, 2006, JSL Khemosabra owned by Cotter O’Hara Arabians
was admitted into the hospital for signs of colic. "Sabra" as she is
affectionately known, was placed on intensive care overnight. In the
morning, the mare still remained unresponsive to fluids, pain medications,
and other therapeutic measures. Therefore the decision was made to undergo
colic surgery. Dr. Inoue and Dr. Werner found large amounts of sand
accumulated in her large intestine and large colon displacement. During
surgery, the doctors removed most of the sand by an enterotomy which
involves makinga an incision into the large colon and flushing it with
copious amounts of water lavage. Sabra recovered from surgery uneventfully
and returned home in three days.
Khemosabra (and the rest of the Cotter O’Hara Arabians) are on the Preventicare program offered by Pfizer. Pfizer offers a colic assistance
plan (CAP) that will reimburse up to $5,000 worth of surgical and hospital
costs in the event of colic surgery. CAP is free of charge, the only
requirements are enrollment in Preventicare and that the horse remains
compliant with the program. We are happy to announce that Sabra is happy at
home and remains colic free. In addition to the Preventicare program, Cotter
O’Hara Arabians now include psyllium in their horses’ diet, so that they
remain sand free!
“JSL Khemosabra” is a
25 year old daughter of the legendary Arabian sire Khemosabi. Her dam line
is also impressive carrying the blood of many greats of the of the Polish
and Crabbett breeding programs. Since “Sabra” first came to our family
12 years ago, she has produced for Cotter O’Hara Arabians a total of 6 foals
by such sires as MCA Cardigan, Sundance Kid V, Desperado V and Roi Rogers
HMG. The last, a colt, the image of his mother only buckskin! “Sabra”
has now accepted retirement to serve as the “wise grandmother” at Cotter
O’Hara Arabians. Her days are spent overseeing all, babysitting the
weanlings and wandering through the garden to graze on the front lawn. She
has truly earned that exalted place reserved for “the mother of
bounty…vessel of joy ...God has looked upon her path, and he alone knows the
secret of her days.”
-Cotter O’Hara Arabians
To Olivia, Laura, Jim and the TEC
technicians:
Thank you so much for you skill,
talent, and compassionate care. “Sabra” arrived home Saturday to excited
greetings of her whole equine family. Bless you all…
