Fausto Bellezzo, DVM

Dr. Bellezzo received his DVM degree at the Federal University of Vicosa in Brazil. He worked at the San Paulo racetrack as a racetrack emergency/ regulatory veterinarian for four years. Thereafter, he interned for a year each at Louisiana State University and Fox Run Equine Center (Apollo, PA) in equine medicine and surgery. Dr. Bellezzo obtained a surgical internship position at Hagyard-Davidson and McGee Associates, (the same place that Dr. Werner performed her surgical internship!) in Lexington, Kentucky.  His residency in Large Animal Surgery and Sports Medicine Residency was performed at Tufts University in Massachusetts. After completing his residency, he joined Iowa State University as an equine emergency surgeon. For the past two years, he has performed elective and emergency surgical duties at the university veterinary equine hospital. After visiting San Luis Obispo, Dr. Bellezzo has chosen The Equine Center to be the next chapter in his career and we are happy to have him. Dr. Bellezzo found The Equine Center be an excellent place to further his professional growth with the excellent care provided by the staff and veterinarians, not to mention the beautiful region.
